There’s a strange moment in every writer’s life when the story that’s lived rent-free in your skull for years finally decides it’s ready to step into the world. It doesn’t ask permission. It just elbows its way out, dripping magic and attitude, and suddenly you’re sitting there thinking, …so this is happening now.

That’s where I am with The Song Beyond the Ashes—my debut fantasy novel, the first jagged, breathless piece of a world I’ve been quietly building and loudly panicking about behind the scenes.

This blog is where I’ll be pulling back the curtain (just a little) to share the chaos, the craft, and the occasional emotional breakdown that comes with writing epic fantasy. You’ll find everything from character insights to world lore to mutterings about deadlines that haunt me like friendly ghosts.

What’s Brewing Right Now?

At the moment, I’m deep in the finalisation stage—the part of the process where every sentence suddenly looks suspicious and you start wondering if you should have gone into beekeeping instead. But there’s something electric about this stage, too. Every chapter feels sharper. Every character feels louder. Every plot twist is screaming, “put me down exactly like this or perish.”

The world of Ashes is taking its full shape, and I can’t wait to start sharing more of its bones and fire with you.

What You Can Expect Here

This space will grow with the series. Expect:

  • • Insights into the writing process (chaotic, dramatic, occasionally caffeinated)

  • Sneak peeks behind the worldbuilding Updates on the launch of The Song Beyond the Ashes

  • Feral commentary about characters who refuse to behave

  • Tangents I promise will eventually make sense

  • And yes—early hints about Book Two, because I have no impulse control

  • If you’re new here: welcome. If you've been lurking like a polite shadow demon waiting for news—your patience is about to pay off.

Why This Series Means So Much

This world didn’t arrive in one clean, elegant moment. It came in flashes: scenes scribbled in notebooks, lines that showed up at 3am, characters who walked into my head like they owned the place. Ashes is stitched together from every piece of that. From grief, from wonder, from “what if,” from stubbornness, and from the quiet magic that keeps stories alive.

And somehow, it all grew into a tale worth sharing.

What’s Next?

Soon, I’ll be dropping more updates, including:

• The first glimpses of the world map

• Character features

• Release timelines

• ARC sign-ups (yes—soon)

• And the kind of behind-the-scenes nonsense that either inspires or alarms people

For now, thank you for being here at the beginning. It means more than I can put neatly into words.

Welcome to the emberlight. Let’s see where this fire leads.
